Loose bulk
Lowest packing cost, requires handling equipment and space at destination. Suits civil and large landscaping supply.
Woven bags, 20–25 kg
The standard retail-ready format for merchants and garden centres. Palletised and shrink-wrapped for stable transit.
Jumbo bags, approx. 1,000–1,500 kg
Efficient for yards and contractors with a forklift. Fewer units to handle and a lower packing cost per tonne.
Retail packs
Printed pouches, mesh bags or tubs for shelf sale. Highest packing cost, highest value per kilogram, artwork agreed in advance.
Pallets and timber
ISPM-15 heat-treated timber where wood is used. Pallet size and stack height matched to your handling equipment.
Marking and labelling
Product, size band, weight and destination marking, plus language or per-customer labelling where you redistribute onward.

Container loading and payload
Stone is a weight-limited cargo: a container reaches its permitted payload long before it is physically full. Permitted weight varies by route and destination road regulations, which is why we confirm quantity against your port rather than quoting a fixed tonnage per container.
How packing choice affects container payload
Packaging itself has weight, and dense stone reaches a container's permitted payload before the space is visually full. As a general pattern, heavier packaging formats leave less of the payload available for stone.

- Flexible intermediate bulk container — the large woven bag used for 1,000 kg+ loads.
- ISPM-15
- The international standard requiring heat-treatment of wooden packaging material to prevent pest transfer.
- Dunnage
- Material used to brace and separate cargo inside a container to prevent shifting in transit.
- Shrink-wrap / strapping
- Film or strapping used to stabilise a palletised load for handling and transport.

- Loose bulk has the lowest packing cost but the highest handling cost at your end. Jumbo bags usually give the best balance for contractors and yards.
- Do you use ISPM-15 compliant pallets?
- Where wooden pallets are used, they are ISPM-15 heat treated as required by most destinations. Confirm your country's requirement with your broker.
- Can you print our branding on bags?
- Printed retail packing can be quoted. Send artwork, bag size and material preference with your enquiry.
- Can different products in one container use different packing?
- Yes. It is common to load some lines loose and others in bags or jumbo bags within the same container, as long as the total stays within payload.
- Do you supply packing weight and count details for customs?
- Yes, the packing list states pack count, unit weight and total weight per line so it matches your customs declaration.
- Does packing choice affect how much stone fits in a container?
- Yes. Loose bulk and jumbo bags waste less payload than heavily palletised retail packs, since packaging itself has weight and takes up space that could otherwise carry stone.
- Can packing be changed between repeat orders?
- Yes, but tell us before the next order is confirmed — packing choice affects lead time, cost and sometimes the minimum quantity that is economical.
- What happens if bags are damaged in transit?
- Report it with photographs as soon as it is noticed at unloading. This is a shipping and handling matter as much as a packing one, so timing and documentation both matter.
