A dry river bed looks wrong in one uniform size. We usually recommend layering two or three bands — for example 20–40 mm with 60–100 mm and a few 100–150 mm feature stones — and we will price the mix as a single consolidated load.

A dry river bed built at 60–80 mm depth needs roughly 1 tonne per 8–10 square metres for the base 20–40 mm layer, plus an allowance of larger feature stones scattered on top — budget those separately since they are priced and counted by the piece, not by tonnage.
